Tematem artykułu jest kwestia integracji Ukrainy z NATO zarówno w aspekcie dzisiejszych starań rządu w Kijowie jak i przyszłych możliwości. Pierwsza część artykułu dotyczy politycznych koncepcji zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa państwa proponowanych przez władze ukraińskie po upadku Związku Radzieckiego. Analiza skupia się na ogólnych koncepcjach bezpieczeństwa w Europie Środkowej. Ponadto w artykule przedstawiono obecny poziom współpracy Ukrainy z NATO, w tym kwestii członkowstwa w programie Partnerstwo dla pokoju, oferty indywidualnego programu współpracy Sojuszu z Ukrainą i zaangażowania wojska ukraińskiego w natowskich operacjach. Dalsza część artykułu dotyczy problemu przewartościowania polityki zagranicznej Ukrainy w konsekwencji zmiany władz oraz trwającego obecnie konfliktu między Kijowem a Moskwą. Kolejne fragmenty artykułu wskazują na główne czynniki wpływające na możliwości integracyjne NATO z Ukrainą. Przeanalizowano również kwestię integralności terytorialnej Ukrainy w kontekście obecnego konfliktu i pozycji Federacji Rosyjskiej. Ponadto artykuł zawiera zagadnienia dotyczące Morza Czarnego jako obszaru wzmocnionej aktywności NATO.

The theme of the article is the current level and future opportunities for Ukraine's integration with NATO. First part of the article, presented political concepts proposed by the authorities in Kiev after the collapse of the Soviet Union, in order to guarantee the security of the state. The analysis concerns the concept of security in Eastern Europe. Moreover article presented the current level of cooperation of Ukraine with NATO, including the idea of membership in the Partnership for Peace, the offer of an individual program of partnership with Ukraine, and the involvement of Ukraine in NATO’s operations. Part of the article contains problems related to the overvaluation of Ukrainian foreign policy, which is a consequence of the change of authorities, and the current conflict between Kiev and Moscow. Next fragments include the main issues that affect the integration of NATO and Ukraine. The analysis has been devoted to the issue of territorial integrity of Ukraine in the context of the current conflict, and the position of the Russian Federation. Additionally, this article contains issues related to the Black Sea, as an area of NATO’s increased activity.
