The article shows the results of research regarding the ways of spending free time and the lifestyles of young people living near the Polish-Ukrainian border. The data were collected from a questionnaire survey carried out on a sample of 1,318 respondents. The findings indicate that young people living on both sides of the border spend free time in a similar manner. In their free time, subjects spend time together, enjoying themselves and relaxing. The results of factor analysis made it possible for the analyst to observe the sub¬jects’ lifestyles. These were most often affected by cultural capital. Young people with cultural capital had an active and creative lifestyle. This phenomenon could be observed on both sides of the border.
