The subject of the analysis is a brass seal matrix with an oval stamp and a handle in the shape of an oak leaf, obtained in 2017 at the Old Market Square in Słupsk. The analysis was based on a review of seal matrixes and shoemakers' guild seals from various centres and continued after becoming familiar with personal seals of masters of the shoemakers' guilds from the Duchy of Głogów. The research allowed us to conclude that the matrix of the discussed item contains representation typical of shoemakers in the form of a centrally placed high shoe with a spur, flanked by majuscule initials. On other objects, a palm wreath or crown covering the bottom of the representation was also noticed, as the one recorded on the Słupsk matrix. Based on the indicated analogies, the artefact was dated to the 18th century and interpreted as a personal seal matrix of a Słupsk guild master. Archival research in the Słupsk branch of the State Archives in Koszalin revealed the lack of a set of archive materials concerning the Słupsk shoemakers' guild from the 18th century. Perhaps some hope for learning the personal details of the guild master can be placed in interdisciplinary research, consisting in the analysis of the registers of admissions to municipal law.
