Angesichts der wirtschaftlichen Bedeutung der KMU für die EU und der wechselhaften konjunkturellen Entwicklung der Wirtschaft und des starken Konkurrenzdruckes auf diese ist die Stabilisierung und Konsolidierung von Kleinen und Mittleren Unternehmen und die Sicherung von Arbeitsplätzen eine immer wiederkehrende Aufgabe für eine externe Wirtschaftsberatung, sofern dazu in den Unternehmen eigenen Managementressourcen und -kompetenzen fehlen und das Unternehmen diese nachsucht. Dabei besteht das Dilemma darin, dass in der Regel von den KMU meist spezialisierte Berater nachgesucht werden und deren Einsatz durch die EU gefördert wird. In dieser einseitigen Ausrichtung der Praxis auf Spezialisten ohne die genügende Berücksichtigung ganzheitlichen Denkens zeigt sich „die Kraft des Etablierten“ (Hans Ullrich). Fallstudien weisen auf die Schwäche und Begrenztheit dieses Herangehens und die Notwendigkeit des ganzheitlichen Denkens hin. In den Schlussfolgerungen werden eine Reihe von Aufgaben und Maßnahmen zur Veränderung dieser Situation diskutiert.

Biorąc pod uwagę znaczenie gospodarcze MŚP dla UE i zmieniający się gospodarczy rozwój gospodarki, a także silną presję konkurencyjną na tych rynkach, stabilizacja i konsolidacja małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw oraz zapewnienie miejsc pracy jest powtarzającym się zadaniem zewnętrznego doradztwa biznesowego. Firmy nie mają własnych zasobów i kompetencji zarządczych, a także dostępu do odpowiednich osób. Dylemat polega na tym, że zazwyczaj poszukuje się większości wyspecjalizowanych konsultantów MŚP, a UE zachęca do ich stosowania. W tym jednostronnym skupieniu się na praktyce specjalistycznej bez wystarczającego uwzględnienia holistycznego myślenia ujawnia się "siła obecnych" (Hans Ulrich). Studia przypadków wskazują na słabość i ograniczenia tego podejścia oraz potrzebę holistycznego myślenia. W konkluzjach zwrócnono uwagę na serię zadań i możliwych do wykorzystania środków, które w ramach dyskusji mogą wpłynąć na zmiany tej sytuacji.

Given the economic importance of SME’s for the EU and the changing economic development of the economy and the strong competitive pressure on these is the stabilization and consolidation of small and medium sized companies and securing jobs a recurring task for an external business advice, provided to the companies lack own resources and management competencies and the person requesting this company. Here the dilemma is that usually most of the SME’s specialized consultants are sought and their use is encouraged by the EU. In this one-sided focus on specialist practice without sufficient consideration of the holistic thinking reveals "the power of the incumbents" (Hans Ulrich) Case studies point to the weakness and limitations of this approach and the need for holistic thinking. In the conclusions of a series of tasks and measures to change this situation are discussed.
