Wiele osób z najpoważniejszymi deficytami wymaga zapewnienia alternatywnych sposobów komunikacji i sterowania. Jednym z możliwych rozwiązań są interfejsy mózg-komputer, wykorzystujące pomiary aktywności elektrofizjologicznej do pozamięśniowej komunikacji człowieka z otoczeniem. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ocena potencjału obecnych i przyszłych interfejsów mózg-komputer w terapii i opiece nad pacjentami z najpoważniejszymi deficytami, w tym wynikającymi z uszkodzeń układu nerwowego.

Many people with the most severe deficits require providing alternative means of the communication and control. One of the possible solutions are brain-computer interfaces utilizing electrophysiological activity measurements to non-muscular communication with the outside world. The aim of this article is to evaluate the potential of current and future brain-computer interfaces in the therapy and care of patients with the most severe deficits, including those resulting from damages of the nervous system.
