The article presents the main problems related to cyberbullying in a peer group: manifesta-tions, forms, sources, mechanisms and consequences of cyberbullying. The author puts forward a thesis about the close connection between traditional violence and aggression and cyberbullying, while pointing out that the new media are not an independent source of threat to the development of the young generation. Recalling studies confirming this thesis, she concludes that new media are a threat to the development of youth (as they canfacilitate cyberbullying), if there are primary factors conditioning the traditional forms of peer violence and aggression.
