EN
Risings costs of providing weapons and equipment for modern armies have led to countries’ increased interest in economic and defence cooperation. The paper presents the significance of this cooperation for the countries of the European Union. The author explains the essence of the economic and defence cooperation, ways of its implementation, and the benefits that can be gained from this cooperation. The paper focuses on the implementation of joint programs of acquiring modern weapons, in particular the programs in the area of research and development of modern military technologies. The presented analysis underlines a new quality of EU states’ cooperation, i.e. the making of joint development investments by EU states, which is managed by the European Defence Agency.
