The paper deals with the works of the famous American actor and director – Mel Gibson. The author analyzes the films The Passion of the Christ, Apocalypto, and Ransom. It is shown that not only The Passion of the Christ, but also the other two films, contain profound Biblical symbols that play a central role in the rather sophisticated narratives.
