The article takes the issue of determining the essence of good governance in a regional context. It presents indicators of good governance in the field of governance at the local level. The study was based on the relatively new index of The European Quality of Government Index. In this study the quality of governance at the regional level – in the voivodeships in Poland, in 2013 was assessed.
