Współpraca transgraniczna stanowi formę współdziałania między państwami i regionami sąsiadującymi po obu stronach granicy. Przyczynia się ona przede wszystkim do niwelowania dysproporcji gospodarczych i rozwiązywania problemów marginalizacji i izolacji regionów granicznych. Szczególny rodzaj sformalizowanej współpracy transgranicznej stanowią euroregiony. Aby proces ich rozwoju przyniósł jak najwięcej korzyści ekonomicznych i społecznych władze wykorzystują dostępne narzędzia zarządzania strategicznego. Głównym celem artykułu jest zatem wskazanie możliwości zastosowania nowego podejścia poprzez włączenie badań foresightowych, wykorzystujących wiedzę i doświadczenia szeroko rozumianych interesariuszy, do procesu budowania strategii rozwoju euroregionów.

Cross-border cooperation is a form of cooperation between the countries and neighboring regions on both sides of the border. It contributes mainly to bridge the economic gap and solve the problems of marginalization and isolation of border regions. A particular type of formal cross-border cooperation are Euroregions. To make the process of development has brought economic and social benefits – the regional decision makers to use the available tools of strategic management. The main objective of this paper is, therefore, to point out possibilities for a new approach to the process of building a strategy of development in the Euroregions, by incorporating the foresight research, using the knowledge and experience of the broadly understood stakeholders.
