Author's deliberations focus on Diogenes' idea: "Just as we eat animal bodies we could eat human bodies". From an aesthetic and psychological point of view there is nothing more off-putting and disgusting for people than eating members of one's own species. Meanwhile the same people consume flesh of animals with a clear conscience being convinced that there is nothing terrible about it. The author has elaborated the problem of anthropophagy based on the futurological work by Anatoly Sudariev Our Father. Story about developed cannibalism of 1990, describing situation in which after a Great Disaster all animals completely disappeared from the planet, and barren land yields poor crops. Therefore in this anti-utopian vision of world human relations are based on legally sanctioned code of killing people by people. We observe a reversal of subjectivity: reality in the story is a polarized space of skillful killing, experiencing death and reversal of subjects: "a hunter is man", "a hunted down is meat", yet depending on situation the same man may become a hunter or a game animal.
