We have recently observed a disturbing trend in urban architecture which focuses on demolishing old buildings rather than reconstructing them. Examples of such saddening practices, such as pulling down Gdansk’s Shipyard or Katowice’s main train station, have been well documented by artists who have different ideas of how to deal dealing with this problem. The actions of these artists have directed the author's general conclusions, which focus on uncovering the meaning and mission behind documentary photography and art.
