Publikowany fragment poematu Amereida (Amereida, volumen 1) został wydany w 1967 roku w Chile (Valparaíso). Stanowi on poetycki manifest grupy, która uformowała się wokół Godofredo Iommiego i Alberta Cruza. Powstał po wyprawie przez amerykańskie „morze wewnętrzne” w 1965 roku. Napisany został zbiorowo przez uczestników travesía, ale ostateczną postać nadał mu Iommi. W polskim przekładzie, którego dokonała Justyna Cecylia Nowicka, nie został zachowany ścisły wizualny skład typograficzny poematu (pozostawione puste strony, odstępy między interliniami, mapy etc.), autorka podążała przede wszystkim za znaczeniem.

The published fragment of the Amereida poem (Amereida, volumen 1), issued in 1967 in Chile (Valparaíso), constitutes a poetic manifesto of a group that formed around Godofredo Iommi and Alberto Cruz. The poem – the outcome of an expedition across the American “inner sea” in 1965 – was written by all the participants of travesía, although its ultimate form was granted by Iommi. The translation into Polish by Justyna Cecylia Nowicka does not preserve the exact visual typographic composition (retained blank pages, spacing, maps, etc.) since the author predominantly pursued meaning.
