W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań objawów syndromu wypalenia zawodowego w grupie pracowników administracji publicznej. W badaniu uczestniczyły 123 osoby pracujące na stanowiskach menedżerów wyższego i niższego szczebla organizacyjnego. W badaniach zastosowano polską wersję Kwestionariusza Zachowań i Przeżyć związanych z pracą AVEM (Arbeitsbezogenes Verhaltens- und Erlebensmuster, Schaarschmidt, Fischer 1997). Pokazano kluczowe cechy decydujące o rozwoju syndromu wypalenia. Udowodniono udział braku umiejętności radzenia sobie z porażką i przewagę ofensywnej strategii radzenia sobie z problemami w powstawaniu syndromu wypalenia w obu grupach porównawczych. Wyniki badań wskazują na to, że rezultatem narastających symp¬tomów wypalenia są deficyty w sferze zadaniowej i społeczno-komunikacyjnej. Pokazano kierunki działań profilaktycznych służących zapobieganiu wypaleniu zawodowemu pracowników administracji publicznej w aspekcie wzmocnienia zasobów zaradczych w sytuacjach błędów i porażek w celu obni¬żenia występującej tendencji do rezygnacji i przyjęcia strategii obronnej. Problem ten ma szczególne znaczenie i stanowi wyzwanie dla procesu edukacji dorosłych.

The article presents the results of a survey study of symptoms related to occupational burnout syndrome in a group of public administration employees. A total of 123 senior and lower organisational managers participated in the survey. The Polish version of the Behavior and Experience Questionnaire related to the AVEM questionnaire (Arbeitsbezogenes Verhaltens- und Erlebensmuster, Schaarschmidt, Fischer 1997) was used. The key characteristics determining the development of burn¬out syndrome were presented. The contribution of a lack of coping skills and the predominance of an offensive coping strategy to the development of burnout syndrome was proven in both comparison groups. The results of the survey study indicated that the result of increasing symptoms of burnout are deficits in the task and social communication spheres. Directions for preventive and counselling measures for burnout prevention among public administration employees were presented in terms of strengthening coping resources in situations of mistakes and failures to reduce the existing tendency towards resignation and the adoption of defensive strategies. This problem is of particular importance and poses a challenge to the adult education process.
