Two faces of innovation

Abstracts
What is hiding under the term „being innovative”? It has at least two different aspects which the article tries to distinguish between. The first one, which is known as spontaneous innovation, refers to the unplanned improvements of already existing technologies by replacing them with more efficient solutions. The second aspect, which is referred to as guided innovations, are major discoveries and solutions that have the ability to change people’s lives and are mainly government supported. The author explains the differences and meanings of both of these terms and describes the role of differing countries regarding their support of different innovative projects.
