This article presents the conservation of two nineteenthcentury procession flags. The detachment of secondary borders disclosed central paintings, executed on both sides. The damaged painting layer was reinforced, the ripped cloth was glued together, the creases and bends were straightened and one of the flags had to be doubled with the application of an entirely transparent polyester foil; the adhesive was Beva 371. Retouching and reconstruction were performed on the foil. The paintings were sewn into new borders and the edges were reinforced with metal frames which prevent the flags from being bent while they are carried during processions.
