This paper strives to enhance the reader’s understanding of the European contract law har­monisation concept from the point of view of conflict management. The main aim of this paper is to determine whether the harmonisation of European contract law may facilitate the resolution of international economic conflicts, in particular at the level of small and medium sized enterprises. The historical, theoretical, linguistic, economic, legal and practical aspects of the harmonisation proposal are successively taken into account.
