Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie, jaki wpływ niosą ze sobą zamachy terrorystyczne na gospodarkę państwa, którego zostało zaatakowane oraz na gospodarki państw oddalonych o tysiące kilometrów od miejsca zamachu. Hipotezę artykułu stanowi sformułowanie, iż zamachy terrorystyczne w znaczący sposób oddziałują na rynki ekonomiczne, a ich skutki na przykładzie wydarzeń z 11 września 2001 r. przedstawiono w rozbiciu na rynek finansowy, rynek dóbr i usług oraz rynek produkcyjny. W artykule dowiedziono, iż w dobie gospodarki globalnej, jako procesu integracji oraz rosnących współzależności między systemami ekonomicznymi wszystkich państw, zjawisko terroryzmu zyskało charakter globalny. Jak ukazały to wydarzeniaz 11 września 2001 r., przeprowadzone na dużą skalę zamachy terrorystyczne wymierzone w jeden kraj, pociągają za sobą skutki na rynkach całego świata.

The aim of the paper is to study the impact of terrorist acts on the economy of the country where they were carried out and on the economy of the countries located thousands of kilometers away from the place. The hypothesis of the paper states that terrorist attacks significantly affect the economic markets as described on the example of the events of September 11, 2001. The paper reveals that in the era of the global economy, the terrorism has also become a global phenomenon. As proved on the example of the events of September 11, 2001, large-scale terrorist attacks directed against one country or region, bring consequences to the whole world.
