Olgierd Brzeski, chemist, chairman of a pharmaceutical company in Canada, in 1989 established The Brzeskis Foundation affiliated to the Poznańskie Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Nauk (Poznań Friends of the Sciences Society). Financial support for the archaeological research in the stronghold in Grzybowo not far from Września is the main goal of the Foundation. It can be regarded as the fulfilment of the youthful dreams of Olgierd Brzeski, who in 1937, during his holidays in Grzybowo, carried out his first research here. Thus building the museum pavilion in the area of the stronghold in Grzybowo can be treated as a kind of continuation of the dreams of Olgierd Brzeski who died in 2000. The construction was built as a part of the program “The Archaeological Reserves Concerning the Beginnings of the Polish State – Ostrów Lednicki (Lednica Holm), Giecz, Grzybowo”.
