Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie relacji katolicko-ewangelickich podczas pontyfikatu papieża Franciszka. Autor stwierdza, że biskup Rzymu wykorzystuje szanse, których dostarczają mu tendencje i wydarzenia w ruchu ekumenicznym, ale też szanuje kierunki ekumeniczne wyznaczone przez jego poprzedników. Istotnym punktem zbieżności z Kościołami ewangelickimi jest społeczne i ekologiczne zaangażowanie papieża, które znajduje często wręcz entuzjastyczne oceny wśród ewangelików. Prezentacja działań Franciszka opiera się na analizie literatury bezpośrednio dotyczącej głównego zamierzenia, jak i na syntetycznym przeglądzie opracowań na temat struktury ekumenizmu oraz relacji międzywyznaniowych – dla nakreślenia koniecznego kontekstu.

The article aims to present Catholic-Evangelical relations during the pontificate of Pope Francis. The author states that the bishop of Rome takes advantage of the opportunities provided by the trends and events in the ecumenical movement, but also respects the ecumenical directions set by his predecessors. An important point of convergence with the Evangelical Churches is the social and ecological commitment of the Pope, which is often praised by evangelists. To outline the necessary context, the presentation of Francis’ activities is based on an analysis of the literature directly related to the main goal, as well as a synthetic review of studies on the structure of ecumenism and interfaith relations.
