Large-scale industrial undertakings, such as the construction of the „Św in n a Poręba" water reservoir near Wadowice, lead to considerable changes in the cultural property. They bring transformations and often loss of resources of historical value. Endangered values include: the natural landscape, the settlement structure, historically valuable substance and non-material culture of the inhabitants, significant for the culture of the region This places before conservators the important task of documenting resources of historical value and working out complex programs for the revalorization of the endangered localities. The documentation concerning „Św inna Poręba", prepared by a team of ethnographers, historians and architects from the Laboratory of Scientic Documentation and Conservation Inventory of the Cracow branch of the Ateliers for the Conservation of Cultural Property, is an attempt to work out a model of complex documentation for the Nadskawie region (10 villages endangered by the great water undertaking of „Św in n a Poręba"). The project aims to carry out many individual historical, topographical, ethnographic and landscape studies, arranged in several stages. The results of these studies, in the form of detailed design and conservation instructions concerning objects, localities, as well as the entire Nadskawie region, will perhaps contribute to the preservation of the values in this beautiful region of the Bielsko-Biała voivodeship.
