The International Dollmakers Convention “Around the source” was held in Słupsk by the initiative of the employees and the director of the Theater “Rainbow”. The participants of the convention could take part in workshops about the bunraku doll’s creation proces and dell’arte comedy acting techniques. The audience had a chance to watch performances of the theaters from around the World, and admire the exhibitions of the theater dolls collections. This text i also about the theatre history. It describes its new artistic activities and how it integrates the local community. It tries to answer the question, if Słupsk’s “Rainbow” is still a provincial theatre.
