In this work hopes, illusions and dilemma of educational reforms in Poland are considered. Hopes of educational reforms are always connected with sense of educational changes. The kind of new hope - new reasons of State - is ideology of patriotic and national education. This ideology dominates in the 'sanacja' regime model. It is to be a kind of 'panopticon', the type of ideal prison. The next part of this article is about 'polopticon' - Polish version of excellent purge as waiting for Godot, controversies round about idea of patriotic man, search for a sense of educational changes and attempts to save educational reform. The last part of this work shows arguments for three visions of society and school: (1) modern, (2) postmodern, (3) neomodern (late modern). As conclusion, educational reform in Poland should be based on solid educational model, but not on successive hopes and illusions.
