C.)'). The myth of Platonic love in the opinions of Arab and European scholars - and the authoress' discoveries on this subject in 'The Book of Songs (Kitab al-Aghani)' of Abu al-Farag al-I s b a h a n i (at Xth century.) The aim of this paper is to present her complete analysis of two stories from 'The Book of Songs': 'Story of Qays ibn Dharih and Lubna Love' and 'Story of Magnun and Layla'. She presents particulalry these fragments of prose and poetry from the two texts which destroy the false myth of platonic love. These texts bear evidence that Arab and European scholars for one thousand years have imitated only one pattern without taking into consideration non-conventional stories.
