Joanna Kosmalska is a translator, an editor of DeKadentzya literary journal and a research fellow at the Department of British Literature and Culture, University of Łódź. In 2010–2013 she ran a postgraduate training programme for teachers of English (www.anglista.uni.lodz.pl). She is the author of “Polish Emigration Literature in Ireland and Great Britain since 2004” project (www.emigracja.uni.lodz.pl)

Roddy Doyle is one of the most popular and widely-read Irish writers. The author of ten critically-acclaimed novels (The Commitments, The Snapper, The Van, The Dead Republic among others) and a number of short stories, he has also written books for children, plays for the stage and screenplays for his novels. He won the Booker Prize in 1993, for Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha
