The article demonstrates the chronological continuity of the two-component name Cz(ś)cibor and its variants in the Polish language, as well as their productivity in surname and geographical name creation. The frequency, geography, and structure of proper names (anthroponyms and name-derived toponyms), and in the case of oikonyms, renominations, were taken into account. The anthroponymic and toponymic material quoted in the article indirectly points at the geography of the name variant Cibor, which has to be considered a typically Mazovian form. The oldest medieval oikonyms created from the derivatives of the name Cz(ś)cibor mainly identify objects located in the northern part of the historical Mazovia and in Silesia. In Mazovia, ancestral names with the phonetic variant Cibor as their base are more numerous, while in the southern regions we note patronymic names based on the onym Ścibor.
