The influence of the cultural institutions on Muslims and the Spanish community

The subject of the article below is an analysis of cultural institutions operating in the territory of the Kingdom of Spain, with particular emphasis on those entities whose activities are dedicated to topics related to Islam and the Muslim world. These include: Casa Árabe, Fundación de Tres Culturas (The Three Cultures Foundation), Al Fanar Foundation, Centro de Cultura Islamica (Islamic Cultural Center), Casa Mediterráneo. In the course of the research, the profiles and main areas of activity of selected institutions were analyzed in order to demonstrate the differences between them. Attention was also paid to the issues of definition and the place of cultural policy issues, both in Spain and on the international arena. The development of cultural policy in Spain is presented in chronological order. It was indicated that the institutions in question had an impact on the Spanish community in order to spread knowledge about Islam and promote Arab creativity. Their function is the influence on Spanish citizens, not to create the religious identity of Muslims.

Przedmiotem poniższego artykułu jest analiza instytucji kulturalnych, funkcjonujących na terytorium Królestwa Hiszpanii, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem tych podmiotów, których działalność związana jest z promowaniem dialogu, pokojowej koegzystencji ludzi różnych wyznań i kultur. Są to m.in.: Casa Árabe (Dom Arabski), Fundación de Tres Culturas (Fundacja Trzech Kultur), Fundación Al Fanar (Fundacja Al Fanar), Centro de Cultura Islamica (Islamskie Cen- trum Kultury), Casa Mediterráneo (Dom Śródziemnomorski). W trakcie badań przeanalizowano profile i główne obszary aktywności wybranych instytucji, aby wykazać różnice w obszarach działalności. Zwrócono również uwagę na definicje związane z problematyką oraz miejsce polityki kulturalnej w Hiszpanii i na świecie. W porządku chronologicznym przedstawiono kształtowanie się i rozwój polityki kulturalnej. Wskazano, że wymienione instytucje zajmują się przede wszystkim szerzeniem wiedzy na temat islamu oraz promowaniem twórczości przedstawicieli sztuki muzułmańskiej. Ich funkcją jest kształtowanie określonych postaw Hiszpanów, tolerancji, altruizmu – nie wpływają jednak na tożsamość religijną muzułmanów.
