The article presents a vision of Christian hope in the view of the widely regarded German contemporary thinker – Robert Spaemann. This vision was sketched in response to the mistaken understanding of this virtue by representatives of the world’s ideologies of hope, especially of H. Markuse. The nature of hopeis shown there in the context of issues closely related to it, such as salvation and eternal life, the end of times, earthly hopes, dignity of life, progress, suffering, modes of the presence of Christians in the world and their personal qualities. Subsequently, the natural foundations of hope and its meaning are indicated and explained. What is also emphasized is the special importance of this virtue due to the kind of good it offers and the means of solving the existential problems that man will always face (including the purpose of existence, death, suffering, self-fulfillment, happiness, responsibility for the future, respect for life – especially human – from conception to natural death). The work of Spaemann inspires, motivates, orientates, empowers, strengthens and encourages the virtue of hope
