Michael Köhlmeiers Roman Das Mädchen mit dem Fingerhut (2016) über das Ankommen und Leben eines Flüchtlingskindes in einer fremden Gesellschaft greift die Themen Fremdheit, Sprachunfähigkeit, Integration von Kindern und Jugendlichen auf. Die narrative Gestaltung von Migrations- und Fluchtprozessen sowie die Darstellung von Fremdheitserfahrungen in der zeitgenössischen deutschsprachigen Literatur birgt bekanntlich ein pädagogisches Potenzial und einen didaktischen Mehrwert in der Hinsicht, dass die Behandlung von Fluchtliteratur im Unterricht über die Entwicklung textanalytischer Kompetenzen hinaus insbesondere das interkulturelle Lernen und die Sensibilisierung der Schülerinnen und Schüler für komplexe Themen der Gegenwart ermöglicht. Mit Blick auf die soziale und gesellschaftliche Dimension von Flucht stellt der vorliegende Beitrag literaturwissenschaftliche Überlegungen zu Michael Köhlmeiers Roman Das Mädchen mit dem Fingerhut an und untersucht seine literaturdidaktische Relevanz bzw. prüft in Anlehnung an Byrams Modell zur Beschreibung interkultureller Kompetenzen und Spinners Aspekte literarischen Lernens, inwiefern Köhlmeiers Text als Unterrichtsgegenstand legitimiert werden kann.

Dyskutowany w ostatnich latach w przestrzeni publicznej temat ucieczki ma swoje miejsce w literaturze. Powieść Michaela Köhlmeiera Das Mädchen mit dem Fingerhut (2016), której bohaterką jest mała dziewczynka przybywająca do obcej sobie społeczności, podejmuje takie tematy jak: obcość, niemoc językowa, integracja dzieci i młodzieży w nowym środowisku. Narracyjne konstrukcje procesów migracyjnych, problemu ucieczki oraz doświadczenia obcości we współczesnej literaturze niemieckojęzycznej mają duży potencjał wychowawczy oraz dydaktyczny: opierając się na literaturze poświęconej tematowi ucieczki, możliwe jest bowiem nie tylko rozwijanie umiejętności analizy tekstu literackiego, ale także kompetencji interkulturowej oraz uwrażliwienie uczniów na kompleksowe problemy teraźniejszości. Odnosząc się do aspektów społecznych związanych z problemem ucieczki, autorka artykułu analizuje powieść M. Köhlmeiera z perspektywy literaturoznawczej oraz dydaktyki literatury. Przydatność i zasadność wykorzystania omawianej powieści na lekcji literatury analizowane są przez pryzmat modeli teoretycznych Spinnera (kompetencja interkulturowa) oraz Byrama (kompetencja literacka).

This article examines the relevance of Michael Köhlmeier’s novel Das Mädchen mit dem Fingerhut (2016; Girl with Thimble) to literary didactics. The novel focuses on issues such as escape, alienation, linguistic deprivation, and the integration of children and young people into new environments. Narrative representations within German literature of migration and of the issue of escape from the experience of alienation have significant didactic and educational potential. Literature that addresses the theme of escape creates an opportunity for students not only to develop skills in literary analysis, but also to acquire intercultural competence and to become more sensitive to the complex issues of the contemporary world. Addressing social aspects of escape, the author of this article analyses Köhlmeier’s novel from the perspectives of literary studies and literary didactics. Two theoretical models have been used as prisms through which to justify the usefulness of this novel in a literary studies classroom: Byram`s model for describing intercultural competencies and Spinner’s model of intercultural competence.
