The aim of the paper is to find the right narration to capture the stages of reading experience, which remain elusive to the fixed conceptual framework, methodical rigour or reader’s horizon of expectations. The problem is examined through the perspective of Jacques Derrida’s phantom conceptualization (especially in the interview Croyez-vous aux fantômes?). Setting the idea as a starting point allows us to take a closer look at the phenomenon of the reading experience as a series of flickering, impressive, casual, involuntary, random and haunting phenomena - many of which are marginal and eventually eliminated from the praxis order. Transitioning from Derrida’s widely understood spectral theory towards the pedagogical or didactical idea of shaping (different) spirituality, the author seeks to present a useful dimension of what in today’s world is thought to be redundant.
