ОБРАЗ ХУДОЖНИКА В РАССКАЗАХ АЛЕКСАНДРА КУПРИНА Резюме Настоящая статья посвящена анализу рассказов Александра Куприна об артистах конца XIX–начала XX века. Исследуя образы созданных писателем художников, литераторов, музыкантов, актеров и артистов цирка, автор статьи обращает внимание на то, что писатель высоко ценит людей, наделенных подлинным талантом, преданных искусству, относящихся с уважением к своей работе. Задумываясь над судьбой талантливых людей, Куприн замечает губительное влияние общества, основанного на власти денег, на моральный облик артистов. Исходя из этого, писатель часто критически изображает своих героев, показывает их такими, какими они не должны быть. В его рассказах присутствует элемент иронии. PICTURES OF ARTISTS IN STORIES BY ALEXANDER KUPRIN Summary The purpose of this article is to study the images of 19th and 20th century sculptors, painters, musicians, actors and circus artists who were created by Alexander Kuprin. The author draws at-tention to the fact that Kuprin holds persons of real talent, devoted to art and respecting their work, in great esteem.In his analysis of the lot of talented artists Kuprin perceives the destructive infl uence which a society, constructed on the power which money wields, can exert on their moral attitudes. With that principle as his starting point Kuprin frequently describes his artists in a grotesque manner showing them as they should not be. A sense of irony is omnipresent in all his stories.
