The article shows relations between methodology of WCM and strategy of supplier by choice. In the article basic pillars of WCM were characterized to answer: how they are involved in realization of the strategy. Mentioned strategy is performed in metallurgical enterprise ArcelorMittal Poland within pillars of World Class Manufacturing (WCM). WCM standards are based on the assumption „banish waste and create wealth in your corporation” (J.P. Womack, D.T. Jones, Lean Thinking: Banish Waste and Create Wealth in Your Corporation, Simon & Schuster, New York 2002). Some examples of the activity were presented in the article.

Celem niniejszej publikacji jest pokazanie przykładowych działań implementowanych w przedsiębiorstwach w ramach poszczególnych filarów Produkcji Klasy Światowej (WCM) i doskonalących jego pozycję. Rozważania teoretyczne wzbogacono analizą case study. Jako studium przypadku posłużyło przedsiębiorstwo hutnicze ArcelorMittal Poland, które dąży do uzyskania pozycji rynkowej producenta (dostawcy) o wymogach światowych w ramach założeń metodologii WCM.
