The purpose of this article is to analyze the high volatility of capital market asset valuations in 2020, which was driven by investors' flight to quality and liquidity in crisis conditions, as well as the impact of the use of monetary policy instruments on selected equity markets. The article characterizes the March panic in the capital market and the dynamics of the fall of stock indices. It discusses the monetary policy instruments applied by the FED, NBP and ECB in the face of the pandemic.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza wysokiej zmienności wycen aktywów rynku kapitałowego w 2020 roku, która była spowodowana ucieczką inwestorów w kierunku jakości i płynności w warunkach kryzysowych, jak również wpływu stosowania instrumentów polityki monetarnej na wybrane rynki akcji. W artykule dokonano charakterystyki paniki marcowej na rynku kapitałowym i dynamiki spadków indeksów giełdowych. Omówiono instrumenty polityki pieniężnej zastosowane przez FED, NBP i ECB w obliczu pandemii.
