The article focuses on the four archival units in the fonds ‘The Parish dedicated to St Catherine of Alexandria’, held in the Archives of Historical Records of the Toruń Diocese. The paper presents a short historical description of the town and parish of Łasin. The main part of the work, however, analyses the content of the archival material mentioned above, which refers to personal matters and morality of the parishioners as well as the life in the presbytery. All the information included in the parish records is an excellence source for the history of life, customs and morality of the times they come from. The article aims to arouse interest and encourage potential researchers to use a wealth of the documentation of the case files held in the Archive. This is especially important as the significance of this material is often minimized, and the records themselves are far less popular among the users than registers.
