The article presents the results of empirical research, which was designed as tests for verification exploration of the role of the teacher in the system of professional counseling, conducted in 2002-2003 (Pituła 2006). The aim of the study was to investigate whether there has been improvement in the quality of school / teacher in the field of low-quality, casual activities in the area of school counseling. The study was carried out in 2015 among students and teachers randomly selected from the secondary schools from Silesia region. The sample was consisted of 158 teachers employed in secondary schools and 136 students.
