In the article attempt was made to identify the strategic challenges and development vision – important social and economic center for the Silesia Voivodeship and the country – which is the Zawiercie powiat. The primary source of knowledge required to develop a strategic challenges and vision for the development are survey research and expert interviews carried out at the turn in the fourth quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018 in communes of Zawiercie powiat.
