This article outlines the concept of family resilience, which in a broad sense refers to the adaptability of families in the face of experienced adversities or traumatic events. The genesis of the concept derived from the research on individual resilience is explained and the ways of its definition are indicated. The main concepts included in the resilience of a family are described in a synthetic way. The possibilities of research explorations among families experiencing various problems are also described. The considerations undertaken in the article aim to show the complexity of the concept of family resilience and indicate the need to establish its uniform theoretical and empirical framework and to integrate it with the individual resilience concept.

W niniejszym artykule zarysowano koncepcję resilience rodziny, która w szerokim ujęciu dotyczy możliwości adaptacyjnych rodzin w obliczu doświadczanych przeciwności losu lub traumatycznych zdarzeń. Wyjaśniono genezę koncepcji wywodzącej się od badań nad indywidualnym resilience, wskazano także sposoby jej definiowania. W sposób syntetyczny opisano główne pojęcia wchodzące w zakres resilience rodziny. Opisano również możliwości eksploracji badawczych wśród rodzin doświadczających różnych problemów. Podjęte w artykule rozważania mają na celu ukazanie złożoności koncepcji resilience rodziny oraz wskazanie na konieczność ustalenie jej jednolitych ram teoretyczno-empirycznych i zintegrowania z indywidualną koncepcją resilience.
