As we know, Gorin-no Sho contains some practical advices, but also philosophical considerations, which set up a kind of conjunction - the confluence of bushi martial craft, niten ichi-ryū together with some reflections on human condition focusing upon its strong and weak points. The first part of this outline discusses in short the pragmatic angle of Miyamoto's treatise, which approaches a question of victory: regarding both winning the close combat or warfare and - in general - the efficacy of action. The second part of the outline is dedicated to the notional angle of Miyamoto's thought. It is concentrated upon two issues: the awareness of the individual lifetime and death as well as the notion of liberty. In presented interpretation, the key problem is located in liberty. This phenomenon seems to specify the efficiency in taking action / challenge and the comprehensive growth of spirit alike - the self-realization progress. The notion of liberty occures to play the significant, primary part in the understanding of the human nature - in ethical and metaphysical measurement as well.
