The article presents selected challenges for social insurance in Poland in 2022 and their determinants. The challenges were analysed from the perspective of the activity of the Social Insurance Institution and its tasks. Reference was made to the financial situation of the Social Insurance Fund and expenditures on on benefits, mainly old-age pensions. ts, mainly old-age pensions. Attention was paid to the fundamental principles of the old-age pension system and the need to secure the adeThquacy of benefits paid out from this system. W artykule przeanalizowano wybrane wyzwania dla ubezpieczeń społecznych w Polsce w 2022 r. i ich uwarunkowań, analizując je z perspektywy aktywności Zakładu Ubezpieczeń Społecznych i jego zadań. Odniesiono się do sytuacji o sytuacji finansowej Funduszu Ubezpieczeń Społecznych i wydatków na świadczenia, a głównie na emerytury. Zwrócono uwagę na fundamentalne zasady systemu emerytalnego i potrzebę zachowania adekwatności świadczeń z tego systemu. Tłem tych wszystkich działań są strategiczne działania Zakładu na rzecz automatyzacji, elektronizacji i depapieryzacji usług dla klientów, realizowane w kontekście budowania w Polsce spójnego systemu e-administracji.
