Information on the village and parish of Kwielice is found in the thirteenth-century documents. The history of a small village of Kwielice, located near Głogów, differed from the nearby villages and parishes. In the late Middle Ages, the church in Kwielice and the village itself became the property of the monastery of the Canons Regular in Żagań and remained in their possession until the dissolution of the monastery in 1810. In the early modern period, the parish was part of the Hochkirch (Grodowiec) archpresbyterate. The parish population resisted the slogans of the Reformation and, to a large extent, the subsequent progress of Protestantism. In the twentieth century, Kwielice and Ogorzelec deserved to be called Catholic enclaves. During the renovation of the church tower in Kwielice in 2013, the documents produced by parish priests in the years 1772-1896 were found in the sphere of the tower. It was a place where documents were usually deposited during renovation works. These documents are an important source for the history of the parish and village of Kwielice. Additionally, they contain useful information on the sociopolitical and religious situation in Lower Silesia in the nineteenth century.
