The article analyzes the use of new media in the activities that are related to political communication on the example of the City Hall in Elbląg. The main objective of the study is to characterize the use of new media in the area of political communication. The detailed objectives were formulated as follows: characteristics of the use of new media in political communication, with particular emphasis on tools such as the website and Facebook, and identification of activities and evaluation of the City Hall in Elbląg on the official website of the office and Facebook fanpage. The desk research and case study methods were used to achieve the above objectives.

W artykule podjęto temat wykorzystania nowych mediów w działaniach z zakresu komunikowania politycznego na przykładzie Urzędu Miejskiego w Elblągu. Dokonano charakterystyki wykorzystania nowych mediów w obszarze komunikowania politycznego, by następnie szczegółowo scharakteryzować wykorzystanie nowych mediów w komunikowaniu politycznym ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem takich narzędzi, jak: witryna internetowa i portal społecznościowy Facebook, a także zidentyfikować działania i dokonać oceny aktywności Urzędu Miejskiego w Elblągu na oficjalnej witrynie internetowej Urzędu oraz portalu społecznościowym Facebook. Do przeprowadzenia analiz użyto metod desk research oraz case study.
