The introduction into contemporary linguistics (the linguistics o f discourse) o f such new terms as discourse picture o f the world and discourse picture o f cortege interactionbroadens the possibilities o f folk-tale discourse studies and simultaneously enriches the research database on national styles. The author reconstructs discourse pictures out ofBelarusian and 1 Ikrainian folk-tales and projects them onto existing models o f current civilizational development (those centered around one o f four key composing elements:dialogue, conflict, parallel existence, and centrism). The methods of reconstructing discourse pictures of the world and interaction together with the methods of analyticalcommenting and projecting help to extend research ffames ffom the functional to the dynamie. This is especially important in the research on folk-tale discourse, as it presentsprototypical texts in the dynamics of permanent change o f content focusing, and thus as truły alive and socially involved.
