The article is an attempt to answer the main question about man's way of learning about himself in John Amos Comenius' view. It is a philosophical text. A human being has an important mission to fulfill: he should develop his own humanity. In his writings, Comenius shows man some ways of learning about himself. They go through the consecutive stages of life-long education. However, what Comenius believed in most is pansophic education and reflection upon one's own life. The role of pansophia is emphasized as a synthesis of man's ac-tions leading to self-learning. The thinker believed in an unlimited development of human learning and abilities.
