Jednym z ważniejszych wyznań pontyfikatu Franciszka wydaje się być konfrontacja z rosnącym w siły w całym świecie ruchem pentekostalnym. Jednym z objawów jego działalności jest „teologia dobrobytu”, nazywna także „Ewangelią dobrobytu”, według której gwarancją zdrowia i bogactwa na ziemi jest wyznawanie wiary w Boga i modlitwa do Niego. Celem artykułu jest wyjaśnienie istoty tego zjawiska, z uwzględnieniem aspektów historycznych i geograficznych oraz pokazanie, w jaki sposób ten temat w swoim nauczaniu podejmuje papież Franciszek. W ostatniej części tekstu zostają nakreślone najważniejsze wyzwania etyczne, wynikające z szerzenia się tej „fałszywej Ewangelii”.

One of the most important challenges of the pontificate of Francis seems to be the confrontation with the pentecostal movement that is growing in strength in the world. One of the signs of his activity is "theology of prosperity", also called " prosperity Gospel", according to which the guarantee of health and wealth on earth is the confession of faith in God and prayer to Him. The purpose of the article is to explain the essence of this phenomenon, taking into account historical and geographical aspects, and to show how this topic is addressed in his teaching by Pope Francis. The last part of the text outlines the most important ethical challenges arising from the spread of this "false Gospel".
