The article discusses the Wikisłownik (Wiktionary), a project which is interesting both from the lexicographical and the sociological points of view. Due to the enormous potential of the new medium – the wiki technology – this on-line dictionary has a chance of becoming a real compendium: a collection of many kinds of dictionaries providing information on all aspects of an infinite number of words. The new possibilities, however, give rise to certain specific threats. The scope of the article is limited to a careful analysis of the inflection data provided by the dictionary. The authors point out its good and bad sides and suggest solutions which might minimalise the number of potential errors whose occurrence cannot be entirely avoided in such a project.
