The paper analyses a screen adaptation of Henryk Szaro’s Mocny człowiek [A Strong Man] in the context of an industrial culture model that develops at the time of the film’s production. As based on the relationship between the literary original and the movie, Wójtowicz presents the mode in which the changes in the medial landscape influenced the adaptation. Special attention is paid to the manner in which the artistic creativity is perceived as well as to the connections between the author and the public.
