Globalizacja gospodarki dotyczy wszystkich jej aspektów i elementów.

Globalization of the economy affects all of its aspects and components. Therefore it is important to show the impact of this phenomenon on different markets, as well as to determine the nature of changes resulting from that. The article presents the process of the flexible labour market, as a result of, inter alia, the globalization of the economy. Faster developing international links as well as technological advances mean that all markets, including the labour market needs to adapt to this situation. Labour market flexibility on the one hand forced by economic growth, on the other hand allows you to better respond to the dynamic changes in demand in the labour market. Flexible forms of employment, in the article, allow you to adjust the contract of employment to the nature of the company's activities, volatility of demand for the products, also allow for the reconciliation of work and family life. On the other hand, is often perceived by employees as a contract of employment providing less social security than traditional full-time employment, which, moreover, becomes a form of employment relationship less frequently encountered. But you have to remember that the dynamics of economic change compel operators to search for solutions to better functioning of the economy and that more flexible labour market is a process that makes it easier.

Flexibility is a model of labour market policy initiated in Denmark. This strategy includes the liberalisation of labour laws and the spread of more flexible forms of employment. This model integrates the increased flexibility of employment with a simultaneous enhancement of employee security. The article presents the flexicurity model and attempts to assess its implementation in the Polish labour market.

The labour market is undergoing changes in structural transformations in the world economy, globalisation and technical progress and the development of computer techniques. The process of deregulation is inextricably linked with economic transformations in the world and is a response to the faster pace of these transformations. Those changes provide an additional competitive edge to business and national economies, but also create problems with the social security of persons employed on flexible terms. The labour market must be deregulated so that market participants can adapt to the changes resulting from new needs and economic threats. Flexible solutions, and in particular diverse forms of employment contracts, allow employers to react more quickly to changes in the business cycle and structural changes in market demand. While many firms have a flexible work policy, they continue to reward face time and full-time work. On the one hand, new flexible forms of employment may bring about a chance to enter the labour market. However, there can be no doubt that these new jobs are precarious and contain new risks, implying as they do low wages and a low level of social protection or indeed no protection at all. Labour market deregulation is therefore a necessity which the modern economy must contend with ‒ because without a flexible attitude, no market is able to rise to the challenges of its time.

The article discusses the flexible labour market, with particular emphasis on the application of unusual employment contracts. Flexible forms of employment are detailed by the Polish labour code, many of which, however, are still not used widely. This may be attributed to employers lacking information on the topic, as well as employees’ concerns about job security. While unusual employment contracts result in individuals earning less social security, more people are able to secure employment. Fixed-term contracts are the most commonly used form of unusual employment. They enable work from home thanks to the use of IT. This type of unusual employment is used still to a minor degree, but represents the future for many occupations and types of production and services. It has therefore been focused on here to a larger extent.
