The essence of the discussion is the attempt to systematise the suggestions in the field of glottodidactics, which enable to fulfil the paramount aim of foreign language learning and teaching, that is the development of the cross-cultural competence.

Artykuł ukazuje otwarte formy uczenia się i nauczania, takie jak praca swobodna, praca w formie stanowisk dydaktycznych, praca według planu dnia/tygodnia oraz praca projektowa z perspektywy glottodydaktycznej. Z jednej strony analizie został poddany aspekt afektywny, a więc czynnik motywowania uczniów poprzez odpowiedni dobór treści i materiałów. Z drugiej strony rozważania koncentrują się na analizie aspektu kognitywnego, czyli efektów kształcenia w rozumieniu aktualnego nauczania komunikacyjno-międzykulturowego. Te dwie perspektywy uzupełniono analizą aspektu społeczno-działaniowego, a zatem możliwości kooperacyjnego uczenia się w powiązaniu z realizacją dydaktycznej koncepcji uczenia się przez działanie, oraz aspektu materialno-dynamicznego, a więc organizacji pracy w glottodydaktycznym atelier. Rozważania teoretyczne połączono z przedstawieniem wyników własnych badań empirycznych w tym zakresie.

The article presents open forms of learning and teaching, such as free work, working at the stations, working according to the day/week plan and the project work from the glottodidactic perspective. On the one hand the affective factor is analysed, which is the factor responsible for motivating the students through appropriate choice of content and materials. On the other hand, the discussion is focused on the analysis of the cognitive aspect, which means the analysis of the effects of education in the view of contemporary communicative – cross-curicular teaching. These perspectives will be complemented by the analysis of social-active aspect, thus, the possibility for cooperation while learning in connection with the dydactic idea of learning by doing, as well as the material-dynamic aspect, which corresponds to the organisation of work in the glottodidactic atelier. The theoretical discussion has been connected with the presentation of the effects of the author’s own empirical study in this area.
