The article presents the results of a diagnostic survey conducted among students of pedagogy, the aim of which was to find out the respondents’ opinions on health and physical activity undertaken in comparison with a number of restrictions introduced in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. The study presents the definitions of health proposed by the respondents, primarily as the physical and mental well-being of the body and the absence of disease. Among the activities significant for health, the following were listed: regular physical activity, rational diet and preventive medical tests. A significant group of survey participants indicated physical activity, such as: cycling, exercising at home and at the gym, running and walking.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki sondażu diagnostycznego przeprowadzonego wśród studentów pedagogiki, którego celem było poznanie opinii respondentów na temat zdrowia oraz podejmowanej aktywności fizycznej w zestawieniu z szeregiem ograniczeń wprowadzonych w związku z pandemią koronawirusa. W opracowaniu przedstawiono zaproponowane przez badanych definicje zdrowia, przede wszystkim jako dobrostanu fizycznego i psychicznego organizmu oraz braku choroby. Wśród czynności znaczących dla zdrowia wymieniano: systematyczną aktywność fizyczną, racjonalną dietę i badania profilaktyczne. Znaczna grupa uczestników sondażu wskazała na podejmowanie aktywności fizycznej typu: jazda na rowerze, ćwiczenia w domu i siłowni, bieganie i spacery.

Demographic analyses indicate an ongoing and global process of ageing of societies, which results from two phenomena, on the one hand rising life expectancy, on the other declining birth rate. A circumstance that has never existed before in such a large dimension is the possibility of interaction among representatives of several generations. This is of an unquestionable value, but at the same time poses numerous challenges, particularly in terms of mutual obligations and intergenerational solidarity. The quality of social relationships depends on how representatives of each generation respond to each other. The most complex situation seems to be that of the oldest members of the society. It is them who most often experience age discrimination. The article presents the results of a survey conducted to obtain the opinions of representatives of various age groups on ageing and old age, as well as the place of the elderly in social space. The collected empirical data also enabled the author to determine the factors differentiating opinions within the respondent group.

Analizy demograficzne wskazują na postępujący i powszechny proces starzenia się społeczeństw, u którego podstaw leżą dwa zjawiska: z jednej strony wydłużające się życie ludzkie, a z drugiej spadek liczby narodzin. Okolicznością, która nie istniała nigdy wcześniej w tak dużym wymiarze, jest możliwość spotkania ze sobą przedstawicieli kilku pokoleń. Niesie to w sobie niewątpliwą wartość, ale jednocześnie stawia liczne wyzwania, zwłaszcza w zakresie wzajemnych zobowiązań i solidarności międzypokoleniowej. Jakość relacji społecznych zależy od tego, w jaki sposób przedstawiciele poszczególnych generacji ustosunkowują się wobec siebie. Najbardziej skomplikowana wydaje się sytuacja najstarszych członków społeczeństwa, ponieważ to oni najczęściej spotykają się z dyskryminacją uwarunkowaną wiekiem. W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań sondażowych, których celem było poznanie opinii przedstawicieli różnych grup wiekowych na temat starzenia się i starości oraz miejsca osób starszych w przestrzeni społecznej. Uzyskane dane empiryczne pozwoliły także na określenie czynników różnicujących to ustosunkowanie w grupie badanych osób.

The article presents the results of surveys conducted in the academic year 2016/2017 among full-time students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. They dealt with the issues of conditions for the selection of pedagogical studies. Attention was drawn to the importance of both personal qualities and interests in making educational and professional decisions. The motives that inspired respondents to study under thechosen field were described. It indicates what expectations towards the process of studying and then professional work are formulated by students of pedagogical studies at the first and secondlevel of education
