The aim of this study is to expose the notion of a lie concerning politics, sciences, literatures, arts, and many others domains of human lives at the same time. According to the author of this study lie is the most extensively used in the political sphere. At the beginning of this text, the author describes what a lie is, when it appeared for the first time as well as serving an example of “battle for truth” – The Holy Inquisition, established in 1215. The phenomenon of a lie is presented in the spheres of international politics, local politics with the examples of political cheating. Apart from this, the thread of a lie is presented in times of military conflicts. A short characteristic of a phenomenon of a lie in literature is presented on the example of a drama “Konrad Wallenrod” written by Adam Mickiewicz. Besides, the phenomenon of cheating is briefly described in chosen domains of arts – theater, cinematography and fine arts.

Celem opracowania jest prezentacja kłamstwa, oscylującego zarówno wokół polityki, nauki, literatury, sztuki, jak i wielu innych dziedzin ludzkiego życia. Kłamstwo na płaszczyźnie politycznej jest zdaniem autorki pracy wątkiem najobszerniejszym spośród oszustw w innych dziedzinach, dlatego też kwestia ta została opisana najszerzej. Na początku pracy zostało wyjaśnione, czym jest kłamstwo, kiedy się pojawiło oraz podano przykład „walki o prawdę” – inkwizycji, ustanowionej w 1215 roku. Następnie zaprezentowano zjawisko kłamstwa w sferze polityki międzynarodowej i lokalnej oraz podano przykłady oszustw politycznych. Oprócz tego, poruszono wątek kłamstw w czasach konfliktów zbrojnych i przybliżono przebieg kariery kłamstwa koniecznego, której rozkwit przypadł podczas I wojny światowej. W pracy zawarty został również wątek powstawania kłamstwa politycznego, które stopniowo ewoluowało do rangi nieodzownego działania dyplomatycznego w czasie trwania II wojny światowej. W dalszej części została zawarta krótka charakterystyka zjawiska kłamstwa w literaturze, oparta na przykładzie bohatera książki Konrad Wallenrod, Adama Mickiewicza. Ponadto opisano pokrótce zjawisko oszustwa w wybranych dziedzinach sztuki – teatrze, kinematografii i sztukach plastycznych.
